About Us

The Society for Consumers' and Investors' Protection (SCIP) is registered with the Registrar of Societies, Delhi, since June, 1989 wide Society Registration No.S/20005 dated 6/6/1989. The Society has been constituted to achieve the following main objectives relating to Indian investors:

To increase investor awareness by conducting investor education programmes.

To promote investor activism by helping them to form and run local investor associations and other investor   protection groups.

To provide a forum for addressing investor grievances.

To conduct research on financial markets and provide inputs to investor for better decision-making and   regulatory bodies for drafting policy initiatives.

Publish a newsletter, a journal and other regular publications to provide investors fair information about   financial market activity.

To conduct short-term programmes on financial markets to create a better awareness about investment   environment and equip investors with necessary tools for decision-making purposes. SCIP has contributed   although in a modest way, towards investor education and investor grievances during the course of its   existence by conducting investor seminars and addressing to investor complaints. However, in light of the   financial sector reforms in recent years and growing need for investor servicing, SCIP, guided by its dynamic management committee, intends to play amore active role in the area of investor education and protection.
